I have been playing around with my apex and trying to settle on the best cut on and off temp for my tank. From some reading I have done the major concern seems to be cycling the heater too much and causing a shorter lifespan for the heater. I have probably a 200 gallon system and with one 500 watt heater I dont think I would be short cycling the heater with a tighter temp curve. Whats everyone keeping your system at? I think mine is currently set at 78.2 to 78.8

I don't run a heater in my set up minus my 4- 400watt MH haha. Any way my tank temp during the winter has a daily swing from around 75 to 79 in the summer it runs 78- 82. I will note at 82 my lights shut down. If i were to pic a target temp to hold it would be in the 77-78 range.

78-78.5 here but I lost one of the heaters and it isn’t currently keeping up temp

78-80, i find my tank to mostly be in 79.5* when i check, but no apex here. Just check with my digital temp controller. It would be nice to log that however.

I program the Apex for 78.1 to 78.4 with a separate digital thermostat between the 2-200watt and 1-300watt heaters to protect against over temp. Because of hysteresis the tanks temp varies 78.0 to 78.5. I have about 200 gallons as well with a mixture of corals.
