Recent topic suggestion

Dont know if its available, but sometimes when there are a lot of people on i refresh the page so that i can see if anyone posted anything new, etc. But what i was wondering is there a modification to make the topics push notify on the Recent topics portal and/or on the forum as well so that we dont have to refresh the page to see new activity?
