WTB: Small Amount of Dry Sand
« on: August 02, 2015, 15:26:25 »
I will be setting up a new frag system and want to add a small amount of sand to the refugium section of my sump.  Will only need a small amount, seeing as how the fuge is only 1/3 of a 20 long.  Let me know if you have any dry sand, no live.  Thanks.

What grade sand do you want.  I have a few buckets of sugar grained, it was last in water about 4 years ago, and I washed and dryed it out.    And I have some tropic eden reef flakes.

Whichever you want to let go for less lol.  I just want a place for pods to reproduce and good bacteria to grow.

If you just need a little, ill give you some.   For pods, I would just use Macro.  I'm not sure the value you get from sand is worth the chance that it gets dirty and becomes a nitrate factory.

If you want more bacterial surface area, I would look at something like this.   http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/marinepure-ceramic-biomedia-plate.html.   And put it in a clean portion of your sump.
