Any thoughts on how to get rid of aptasia? I've got a pretty good outbreak going on.

Thanks,

Gary

A Copperband Butterfly might do the trick.  Or some peppermint shrimp.  You could always make a nice mix of Kalkwasser and "feed" the aptasia.  I believe we (the club) has a majano wand which should also work for killing aptasia.

I might have gotten lucky but 2 peppermint shrimp wiped mine out in no time. I haven't had any in almost a year.

With a 29 gal I would go with some peppermint shrimp, to small for a copperband.

I make up a pickling lime paste and use a syringe and dribble it into their mouth area.  Turn off your water currents.  I have found that they usually come back but mostly as babies.  That is when the peppermint shrimp do their job.

I've had luck with peppermint shrimp too.  They're nice because they'll eat other stuff when the anenomes are gone.

I hit them with some kalk tonight, but I made it too runny. Hopefully I didn't do too much collateral damage.

Just a thought, will the kalk in a small system effect your PH and such?

Everything appears to be doing ok so it must not have affected it too much.
