A reef system is very rewarding but at a price. This weekend was my "pump clean out" weekend. From powerheads, return pumps and bio pellet pump I have had the joy of doing the vinegar bath and scrub down. The effort is worth it though, peace of mind is Priceless.

Very dirty job indeed. I switched from the vinegar to muriatic acid..
Cut my time in half and no scrubbing.

Pip, good information, what is your mix ratio?

No real ratio. 5 gallon bucket 3/4 way full maybe 1 to 2 cups acid (eyeballing)
make sur you wear gloves
and dont buy the low emissions kind it doesnt work the same as it claims
