I am putting together a nano for my wife's gbta. I'm not sure which skimmer to use or should i just diy one. I have heard alot of bad reviews on the fission (sp)? Any suggestions would help.

Tunze Nano 9002

Best little skimmer EVER!!!

I think I posted a thread on here somewhere about it.  It has great reviews.  The price isn't exactly cheap, but it's still cheaper than a lot of other small ones.  (Rated for 26-52 gallons, not sure what yours is.)

I believe there are a few Remoras out there that are rated for even smaller tanks, but I'm not sure of the reviews on them.  Regardless, Remoras generally seem to have positive reviews.

It's always a good thing when the protein skimmer holds more water than the aquarium does.

One of my friends uses the Fission skimmer....it was hard to not laugh at it.  No matter how desperate you get...I wouldn't use it.

If her tank will not have a sump or separate filter compartment be careful of any pump or skimmer in the tank that the anemone can get sucked into.

I doubt the gbta could get sucked into my Tunze.  It would have to be a pretty suicidal anemone.   ;D  The intake slits are only about 1/2" above my sand, and they're only about 1/16" wide.

All the pumps will be in the rear behind the false wall. I have done the cassette mod. I am going to upgrade the main pump to a maxi 900. I may even put some cheato in one of the slots in the back. I have some turtle grass i may even put into the main tank.I will try to get some pics of the setup this week. I still may diy a skimmer untill after the first of the year. I'm not sure just yet.
