WTB skimmer (upgrd from CSS125)
« on: April 20, 2009, 14:55:57 »
Hi all,

Well, for the last 3 years I've been running my tank on a CSS125 with a cracked impeller. My SPS didn't seem to complain, but I would be interested in hearing if anyone in the area has a better skimmer that they are interested in unloading.

Here would be my requirements:

1) Potential for better skimming then a CSS125, no mods.
2) Not too much louder then a CSS125
3) Must fit in a sump housed in a standard AGA aquarium cabinet.

I have a etss 800 skimmer for sale with a mag 18 pump and 2 gallon collection bucket with carbon for the exhaust air so you don't get any smell.  I'm not sure how much room you have I had it under my 220 gallon tank in a 40 breeder The skimmer worked great for years the only reason I'm selling is I added more water volume to the system and upgraded to a bigger skimmer.

Wow. That thing sure looks like a monster. I have a 125 gallon tank. The stand has about 26 inches clearance, so it would barely fit. How noisy is the mag18 pump? Can it work in a sump? The pictures on the superskimmer website show it operating externally.
