Where did my copperband hide?
« on: December 07, 2009, 20:24:10 »
I guess I should have seen problems, the copperband had been sleeping at night right in front of my Rock Anenome.   I'm a bit surprised, as the anenome has not really had much of a sting, I've seen most of my fish brush up against the anenome, and the Nassarius snails steal food from it.   Possibly the copperband suddenly died overnight and floated into being dinner.

If that's the same anemone that your Jawfish is next too in your pic be careful, everyone I've know who has mixed the two (regardless of anemone) has had a pretty tragic outcome...

The Jawfish has moved to the other end of the tank.   Took up residence under my clams.

Sorry about that loss, Tank. How big is the anemone? At least you know where he went even it it is still a mystery as to why. Good lesson for me.  :)

Typically the anenome is about 6" tip to tip on the tentacles, the oral disk is about 3" across.  His foot is burried all of the way down to the bottom of the tank......probably 6" of sand.    Started 6 years ago as a hitchhiker, about the size of a penny when I first saw it.

Wow, that looks dangerous. Think it was hungry or defensive?
