bio pellet reactor or Gfo/carbon reactor?
« on: October 01, 2011, 17:32:05 »
I have been checking these out on bulkreefsupply and wondering which one would be the best way to go. I have a lot of algae right now and need to figure something out

They work great for me. I have two, one for carbon and one for GFO. They are durable, easy to replace the media, nice mounting features, easy to install and feel confident on the construction that it won't leak or break.

do you have the 2 separate reactors or the 2 reactors that are connected together?

You need to check to see if you have high nitrates or phosphates?  If it is phos use the gfo.  Nitrates are usually take care of with the biopellets.  I have tried the pellets and for some reason after a couple of months of use they would not stop clumping together no matter what I would do.  I ended up just shutting the pellets down and running gfo.
