Title: brain not inflated
Post by: erky on January 23, 2018, 10:27:49
I got a brain from someone shutting down their tank. I have has it for a few months and it just has never inflated like i have seen others. I have put it in multiple locations in the tank, and tried to direct feed it, no feelers ever come out to grab food. I usually place a plastic cup over it to allow it to grab food. This brain is a beautiful one with many colors on it, is there any tricks to keep it happy? not usually a brain guy more of an SPS, but really like this one.

I will post some pictures when I get some time.

If you decide to rehome it please let me know.  My tank water is dirty enough for brains. I'm wondering if your  water is to clean since you have spa. Just a thought

That's a really nice piece.  Hopefully you can get it to inflate

i plan to spot feed every other day for the next few weeks to see if i can get any changes in it.

I feed reef roids, would it benefit a brain to get some meatier larger sized food, shrimp, clam, silverside, scallop?

I'm not an expert but I feed mine LRS.

as in laying it right on and covering the coral so it could consume the food or broadcast feed?

I had a trachy do that once. Moved it to an area of about 70 par (low light) and medium flow and it inflated again.
