is this good growth on my tri color birdsnest?

like to know if this is good growth on my tri-clor birdsnest
i got it from columbus frag swap 11/1/08

Good growth is an understatement.

I'd say that's probably typical growth for a birdsnest.  They grow extremely fast in the proper conditions.  I got my birdsnest less than a year ago as a small frag...and I've had to frag it several multiple times now...and it's still larger than a tennis ball.

ya good growth ,but they do grow fast. I grabbed a bird from marine solutions and its been in less than a month and all the tips are split and new ones are starting all over it. I figure at 2 months it would be the same as yours just on a larger scale.

  Which tank do you have this piece in?  The twin that I got along with yours hasnt grown half that much.  Very impressed.  Looks great.

I would loved to have seen one frag in your t-5 tank and the other in your halide tank.  seeing yours makes me want to bite the bullet and switch over to halides.  I have read several posts on rc showing the par readings on both types of lightng and the t-5 test to be just a good if not better but yours has outgrown mine 2 to 1.  Go figure.

jjoos99 - it could be many other factors other than just lighting keeping your birdsnest from growing.  Calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium just to name a few.  Plus, depending on the flow in your aquarium, your birdsnest may be growing thicker rather than out (which makes it look like it's not growing.)

I am getting good growth under 3wgallon vho. Halides would help though I am sure
