Some pictures of the 14g biocube
« on: April 28, 2013, 03:24:07 »
I will eventually be moving everything in this tank to the 75g I posted about and turn this into a quarantine/frag tank. I have a media basket with a small fuge in the back and I did a retrofit led kit from rapid. Ive been pretty happy about how this turned out. Ive had the tank up and running for a little over 4 months. I've been dealing with a cyanobacteria outbreak for the past 3 weeks. My water parameters are great. I changed out the gfo and carbon and have been doing water changes twice a week instead of once a week but I havent had much luck. Its not growing as fast but its still ugly. I may break down and pick up some chemi-clean red slime remover. I really wanted to try the natural approach but I really want to kick this thing into submission. Enough rambling. Heres some pictures.

I was kinda thinking about keeping it for a quarantine tank but who knows. I'll let you know if I change my mind.

You have a nice pair of clowns. And what kind of clam is that? Is it a crocea?

In the first pic is that colt or Kenyan tree?

I was told that it is a colt leather when I bought it but part of me is unsure. It's growing like a weed, and I was told kenya trees drop babies and I haven't seen any. I believe it is a  crocea clam. I bought both of these from the same LFS and the guy told me it was a maxima but I just don't see it. I have my doubts about how much he really knows, and after going to look at the livestock in a store up in Toledo I don't think I'll be back there. I don't like not knowing what exactly I'm getting and I'm starting to get a little more anal about it. lol

If anyone can tell me for sure what exactly those are I would greatly appreciate it. I would also like to know what exact kind of acro that frag I have is.

Here's a full tank shot  :)
