I wouldn't.  I put macro in my tank for my tangs to eat and it now fills up my overflows!  No a smart thing...

You do not want this in your display tank.  It grows really fast and takes over the space quick.  If you have a sump, it is a great filter.  Mine has grown from a softball size to probably 10x when I got it 3 months ago.
