modified maxi jets
« on: February 23, 2008, 10:11:06 »
how much is too much for a 75 gallon??  I heard they give off some huge flow.  I have a 400, a 600, a 900 and a 1200 that i can modify.  I was thinking the 4 and 9.  or maybe the 4 and 6.

What will you be keeping in this tank, sps, lps, or softies? The good thing about the modded maxi's beside them being cheap good flow is that they have a wide stream instead of a direct stream like when they are stock. I would do the the 1200, and the 900 just to make sure that you would have plenty of flow. Just my opinion though.

In my 65gal(3ft) I have a modded 900 a 400 and a sieo 820.The 900 will move the sand around on the opposite side of the tank if not aimed at some of my rock.I would go with the 900'sor 1200's for a 4 foot tank.

well I went with a 900 modified maxi jet and a regular 600 maxi jet along with the return from the spary using a spray bar across the side of the tank.. shooting to the other side.

By what I can see so far its amazing how well the modified maxi jets do.  I have three more mod kits that I will just hold onto until I get my bigger tank.

well worth the money
