Wanted : Phosphate reactor installation pics
« on: January 27, 2010, 17:20:07 »
I am getting ready to add a little more technology to our tanks in the form of a phosban Phosphate reactor.

That being said, I would like to see how various members have installed theirs into their systems.

As I will be putting 1 in a sump system and 1 as a hang on I would like to see yours no matter how it is installed.

Also.... Am I correct that you can run both GFO and carbon in the same reaction chamber? or have I been misinformed by articles on the web?

Thanks

I have ran both carbon and gfo at the same time but some people says it's best to run them separate.  The only problem I found is that after a couple of days the carbon is at the top of the reactor and the gfo is sitting on the bottom (I don't know if it matters water is still passing by).  I've been looking at the Bulk Reef Supply reactor it looks cool and has great reviews but I don't like the fact it has the metal hanger.

the problem with this is carbon is probably better if change about every two weeks whereas I believe gfo can be changed monthly. So with  this how will you be able to get the two apart to change them out.
If you didn't know I'm kind of a big deal...
