What's your experience with them? I want a couple of invertebrates that like to have a symbolic relationship with anemones.

With good water and light they seem to be very hardy. If you feed them often they will grow and split. Our rose bubble just split for the second time in 2 months. If you are interested in inverts with symbiotic relationships we have pistol shrimp/gobies, porcelain anemone crabs,Acropora colonies with acro crabs, and perecula/anemones.

Thanks Kenn, I needed a good laugh!

Coral ranch there are several things that I am interested in. Just didn't know how to ask. I know your busy and all my "Oooh I want that" are very small tedious items. What/when is the best way/time to get ahold of you?

Thanks

I bought a green bubble tip 6 years ago and I believe I am not a Great, great, great, great Grandparent!  Mine split a lot.  It hasn't split recently but a few times looked as if it were going to.  Pretty cool to watch the clowns and their anemone.

I was thinking about an anemone shrimp with a pink bubble tip. Sexy shrimp is my girls' other (among hundreds) requests? I also want blue porcelain crabs, or anemone crabs, and maybe one distant day an acro crab!

Im not dead set on bta, just thought it was a hardier, easier to keep smaller with good lighting. Honestly, I'm not sure what type of anemone to get? Condi?  I need something that hopefully stays smaller and symbiotic  invertebrates can jive with.

I DO recommend the bubble tip. Lord knows if I can keep 2 then anyone can.

You might want to get the green as they are cheaper.

Said this only took about a year to happen after the first BTA was introduced into the tank... Said he intially didn't have anyone to give them to and didn't want to kill em, but then it got to the point where he couldn't get to them so he just left them alone.

I agree with ken bubble tips dont always stay bubbly.  Clowns don't typically go for the condi anemones, if that's what you're hoping will happen.  When I frst got my bta I had it in a 55 with only PC lighting it did just as good as it does with MH lighting.  I quit hand feeding mine because it was getting so big.  It still thrives fine without being hand fed.  Mine has split several times.  I've had two in the 125 at the same time.  One on each end.  It was pretty cool, but wanted to dedicate one end to more coral so I got rid of it.  I've also had ssexy shrimp, but they tend to get lost in a big tank.  I think they would have been more fun to watch in a smaller tank.  Jmho

Great tank for clowns only!  I feel bad for the yellow tang, he must be getting stung a lot, everywhere he goes there is an anemone.  ;(

Yeah I'm not too sure what makes him think it's a good idea to keep that yellow in there... then again this is a guy who also let bta over run his reef out of what sounds like neglect/laziness... some people's kids ;)... and in my opinion it is quite ugly and dull.

I think a tank with 1 large blue carpet anemone would look really cool. I have to agree with boon, I think his tank looks dull.

I always thought a carpet anemone would be too cool!   But I think it would get too big for my tank, plus I have smaller fish that I would think it would enjoy as a snack.

I think the carpet anemone are much cooler looking and aren't as intrusive as bta's in this style to the remaining tank... If I had the space I would like to have one.

I only have this to say ...

Worry about keeping your first anemone ALIVE before you get concerned with it splitting and taking over the tank  :smiley-happy112:

If you are lucky enough to have it multiply, there are ALWAYS members who would love to have your extras.

It took me 3 tries to figure out how to keep one healthy. I was fortunate to get a "baby" from Harleyrider that finally got me going. And I must say a "Tank raised" BTA will increase your chances of success (IMO).

I will now fade back into the Ethereal Plane ... content that my wisdom has been imparted to you ... :cya            :hysterical:

Just learned the other day myself. On Ohio Reef actually, trying to identify one of Boons odd looking "ricordea"
