125 build
« on: June 18, 2011, 19:49:53 »
Well, several pennies and many trips to Lowes. Calcium reactor ........done.
Well, maybe. The line for my CO2 spews water and floods the bubble counter :hmmmm:
Other than that minor detail, no leaks.  ;D Using a mag drive 3 for circulation pump. Any ideas out there

cheers

I saw something like this before.... I believe some guy put it on a DeLorean and boasted he could travel through time with it... I can't remeber his name or know what happened to him, But I believe it started to work some real magic around 88mph ;) lol ok I am done.

Honestly though it looks awesome, and I really do hope it works for you, sure be a nice equipment addition.

Sump is finished. Planning on gravity feeding the skimmer (SWC). Then skimmer out put into the fuge section. (the Sterilite container) Haven't ever used an SWC skimmer. Anyone have any experience with? (good or bad)

No personal experiences here, but I have heard nothing but good things about them, I know some of the models are premo

Having the overflow drain directly into the Skimmer first, it then gets filtered and pushed out into the sump chamber.

Got stand finished this weekend. Not as sweet as Lazy's. (not much experience in wood working here). GF likes it though and much better than it was.  :) Just need to order the starfish cabinet knobs she liked form Lowes. Also got the tank drilled this weekend. Don't know why I was scared of it. It was very easy.
Now I can get this big glass box off the garage floor and get my Trailblazer back in the garage.  :party0040:

I had thought about doing that as well with mine but the issue i thought would be that the amount of water drained would have to match the pump to suck in the air mixture, etc.

Not sure. Never tried it. If all fails I can run the drain line directly into my fuge. I also have a spare Mag 5 I can use as a skimmer feed pump if need be.
Will keep all posted on results. Might be a while though. Once this tank is done I have to paint a living room and do new wood flooring. Ugh

This would be very interesting if you could do it. I was contemplating it but i havent quite thought about how to keep a good air/water ratio as the drain can vary with the amount of water going through it. So what i did was had the pump in one chamber go to the skimmer and then the return cleaner water line went into the return pump area so i wasnt re-cleaning water.

It really came together nice. No question those doors are aching for some starfish knobs. Looking forward to seeing this come together. Good Job  :-ThumbUpsm
