Hard to tell in that pic but it looks like a scutus snail, some people call them keyhole limpets. Thay are jet black but sometimes thay look like they have a white stripe. If this is what it is many consider them reef safe and I have kept some before, but I had 1 that munched on my birdsnest. See if this is it.

Little serpent star.   Good to have.   He should grow up pretty large.

So I decided to take a look at the tank with no light and I noticed a lot of stuff.

In the main tank I noticed a lot of what I think are pods they were attracted to the light and there were tons like just by the light had to be at least 50 or more.
Then I notice two more black slugs.

Then in the refuge I notice at least 10 star fish. There were like the one I found earlier in the main tank only these ones were like red and tan. Are they breeding in there?

Then I noticed what look like baby shimps in there too. Like maybe brine shrimp. Not sure but were deffenttly alive?

Oh yea, flash light at night, you got it bad. Yes mini brittles will breed and the small shrimp are likely amphipods

Hey just wondering if this is normal but pretty much all my corals just closed up for no noticeable reason. I did just do a water change. Is it normal or is something stressing everything?  After water change I checked everything.

Was the water at the right temp as the tank before you added it?

Well finally did some wood work on my stand. Deciding on either paint black or white or stain. Still going to build large top canopy too.

wow I am surprised the BTA opened already. That is impressive. Looks like the zoa's are opening as well. Once the toadstool opens lets see a pic of that as well.

Bristle worm, they are safe.  They are scavengers, but they can get under corals and other items and cause irritation.   If you keep your tank clean, that will manage the population.

If you do go to remove them, be aware that the little bristles will stick in your skin.
