Pistol shrimp

Just got my pistol shrimp and yellow watchman lastnite but this evening i noticed a claw laying at back of tank and havent seen the shrimp since i put in and goby stays at top of tank.Any ideas wat happened to shrimp

It may have not made it through acclimation.

And my goby seems scared of other fish just hangs out on suction cup of wavemaker

Fish will do that some times. Phew will be running the bottom of the tank in no time.

Your pistol is not necessarily dead.  Before I could get mine out of its bag my helper wanted a closer look and squeezed the bag breakinging off the large claw of mine.  I acclimated anyway and put in the tank, didn't see it for nearly 2 months until I pulled out a large rock to swish during a water change.  Found him in the bottom of the bucket with a new little claw growing.  I didn't see my tiger goby for 3 full days when I added him - the wife was real please with that $45 purchase at first :)

Well my yellow goby died today my wife not to happy with me,whoops
O'well that's the game we play,this is the 3rd goby iv tried in last yr dont know wat the problem is but im done with gobies

Careful, you said you have a purple dottyback, mine ate my arrow crab and my Pom Pom crab, very possible it took a swipe at your new shrimp, they can be very aggressive little @&?*s

Thanks ill keep that in mind from now on, would i b safe w/sand sifting star because i want something  to stir up sand bed

My dottyback leaves my star and snails alone, he just seems to like the softer shelled inverts, not sure why he leaves my shrimp alone? Too fast maybe
