1/2 aquariums
« on: March 03, 2008, 14:25:33 »
I know alot of people do not shop at jacks but I saw a link that Jacks has all aquariums (up to 180 gallons) half off till I believe the 29th of March.  The also have a bucket of salt (160 gallons) for under 30 bucks.

I stopped by & they are the AGA brand or whatever they normally sell.  The predrilled tanks are unfortunantly not discounted in the add but the kid I talked to said he could take a little off.  But I wasn't going to spend $700+ on a 180g.  I cannot decide if I should get a non drilled tank to have for a future filter or even a future tank.  Which reminds me, I need to send Joel a PM

I would definitely contact Joel to get prices on an equivalent tank before going to Jack's.  Joel will usually do pretty well, especially compared to someplace as overpriced as Jack's.  Plus, Joel has great customer service...and he didn't just graduate high school.   ::)

I get probably 99% of my livestock from Joel & support him 150%.  I did stop by his shop & briefly talked to him & I had one of his employees (I forget his name) look up the price on the tanks that Jacks is selling for 1/2 off.  The sale prices that Jack's is offering is cheaper then what Joel normally sells them for.  I also do not beleive there is a big markup in products like this thus it's probably not worth Joel's time to match them, he'd probably loose money!!  While Jacks on the other hand has $2,000 of equptment that you must buy to setup your 55g freshwater tank & I am sure that's where they want to get people ::)

Is there a time limit on ordering?  And are any 120s available?

Thanks,

Thats a steal, I priced a new 90 Gallon with one overflow at Jacks a couple of weeks ago and I believe it was going to be around $320.

im not sure.  the significant other wants me to wait on any big purchases because of the baby being due in july, and she wasnt to make sure everything goes well and we have everything (damn her for making sense)  yet I have a 100 dollar gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket.  i was thinking 180 or bigger.  would love to stay right around 350-450 dollars.
