Greetins from Centerville
« on: April 07, 2009, 21:32:25 »
I have had reef tanks since 99 but this one has only been up for a year and a half. Alot of struggles getting it to look the way it does today but that's the first thing you have to expect in this hobby. ;D The tank is 90 gallon predrilled with a homemade sump using DSB and a variety of algea's with a Fluval 303 to polish the water and a Rio 3100 return pump. Lighting is 2x175 watt halides with 40 watt actinic (currently has a blown ballast), also using a Red Sea wavemaker with Hydor pumps. I use only RO/DI (Buckeye Field Supply) changing 10-20 gallons per week.

Nice tank. Did you frag up your plate coral and grow them back or just buy that many of them?

First- the 303 has one chamber sponge/felt pad, one with chemi pure and one with some bio balls. I may change to more sponge and filter floss one day though.

Second- the plate coral I got when I bought the rock/corals from the guy that it before me (all that was in his 65). I traded the mother colony awhile back to a friend- I had pulled probably half a dozen of those guys off before I got rid of it, not including the ones I have and last I saw it in his tank it still had maybe another dozen on it, they just keep popping up!
