New to the Board, and Marine tanks, From Piqua!
« on: May 05, 2009, 19:48:00 »
Hello All!

I am new the boards here, and I am from Piqua.

Just got into Saltwater after having many successful freshwater systems.

If anyone needs help with an acrylic sump setup let me know.

Here is my Setup:

29G Tank
8.83 Custom built acrylic sump/refug (would have went bigger, no space under the stand).
35Lbs of Various live rock.
Dragon Goby
Ocelaris Clown
3 Green Chromis
2 Emerald Crab
Green Bubble Tip Anemone
Hatian Anemone
Blue Tuxedo Urchin
Several Hermits/Snails
Quite a few mini brittle stars (hitchhikers)
Lots of pods in the sump.

I just cleaned, and I am rearranging some things. So the waters pretty crappy right now. But this was 5 minutes ago or so.

Tank looks good so far. So what do you like better, the fish or the corals, mushrooms, etc?

No thats my Dragon Goby coming out to clean the sand, keep it stirred up.

I wanted a Reef tank, no fish, unless necessary, like the goby to keep the sand bed clean. And the Clowns, because the kids wanted "Nemo". The Chromis can go somewhere for all I am concerned lol.

I'll get you guys some good pics tommorrow when the water clears.

This is my first salt water tank, and it turned one month old on 5/13/09. I know I didn't wait long enough, but I test once or twice a day. Very attentive to the quality of my water. I think the best way to tell if I have a problem is the life in my tank. All my Params are fine, except my phosphates. I can't get them inline no matter what I do, the hover between .5 and 1. Feeding the fish once a day, measured, 1.5ml mixed frozen foods. RO water changes, at the advice of my LFS I got rid of Instant Ocean. I clean off the hair algae with a tooth brush, and syphon, so nothing gets back in the tank. I went as far as stirring up my sand in the sump and tank. No dice. Everything in my tank is GREAT, except the hair algae.
