Peach hammer coral and melinaris wrasse - fighting?
« on: October 03, 2010, 21:54:52 »
The melinaris wrasse was circling the peach hammer coral today, and the peach would throw out several sweepers in the wrasse's direction as the wrasse would circle.  Finally, the wrasse made a move to go under the hammer's sweepers, and was promptly enveloped in the hammer's tentacles, after which the wrasse immediately dove into the sand and has not been seen since.

What's up with this?

My radiant wrasse hid for two weeks.  I wouldn't worry about it.    I doubt the hammer was attacking the wrasse, physical attacks usually cause the hammer to contract.
