I have heard about this happening to peoples clowns.  I could be viral or a bacterial infection or possibly a physical injury.  Some people have claimed that this occurred after their used a hammer or frogspawn as a host.  However, I have seen clowns use many types of corals for a host, so my guess is that coral injuring the clown is unlikely.  Does your clown use a frogspawn or hammer as a host?

Interesting.....I have seen plenty of clowns using frogswan, hammers, and trachyphyllia w/o any issues.  However, I have heard of people who said their clown had what appeared to be "lock jaw" after using frogswan or hammers.  Some have said their clown got better after a week or 2, while others said their clown died.  Maybe someone  who has dealt with this first hand will post.

Well a little update, as of last weekend he is back to normal..  Not sure what happened there?  He seems fine though.  My other clown died this weekend as well as my flame angel died last week.  Not haveing very good luck with fish it seems these days.
