let me ask this question so everyone can say how stupid i am  :P what is it about this fish that makes it reef safe with caution.

Larry you can find 1/2 of the angels listed that way on one sight or another. Some people will have luck adding angels to their tank but the majority of the time if they do not eat corals right off the bat they will when they reach a certain maturity. I have come across over a dozen people who thought they were the lucky ones only to have their angels destroy there reef tank after a couple of years. I have a beautiful blue face angel right now that on more than a few sites is listed reef safe with caution, I can assure you he eats corals.
