Brian turned me on to this company to get bulbs from ($14.99) for a 250w MH !!

http://stores.ebay.com/Hobby-Lights-Oneshop/Single-Ended-/_i.html?_fsub=1435247018&_sid=857783538&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322

I have seen his bulbs in action and this is a killer deal. I couldn't take advantage of it because all they accept is paypal which I refuse to use.

Just FYI :)

Good luck!

Hmmm, good prices for sure!  What kind did you get?  I normally use 250 14K.  Wondering how they compare with the par meter?

250 watt 14k. The price was great. I will get the par meter and check the par on them to see how they compare. They are a whole lot brighter than the ones I had. My others were 250 w 14k icecaps that were a year old.

Artemis metal halide bulbs
I am using the 400w 20k version and the PAR is similar to coralvue, icecap and sps bulb that I have tested them against. I get 1000+ PAR just under the waters surface, 800+ PAR at 5" below the water and 400+ PAR on the sand bed.

I bought both the 14k and 20k a year ago but the 14k didn't have enough blue in them for me. The 20k's are much better. Although they are not as nice to the eye as a Radium which in my opinion is the nicest bulb out there hands down. (all preference as to what you like) I just can't afford the Radium because they are suppose to be run on pulse style ballasts which produces 360w. When running on a electronic or digital ballast they overdrive the bulb and cause a 40% loss of PAR by 6 months. Replacing the radiums every 6 months is just to expensive for me so I have compromised with this bulb which is just as nice as any other Metal Halide bulb on the market (that i have seen) except the truly unique Radiums.

Thanks Ken. We ordered some, and just got them in the other day. Appreciate the offer, though.

75G Mixed Reef w/ 30G sump/refuge

Electrical Engineers do it on impulse, with faster rise times, with more power, and less resistance at higher frequencies, without shorts, until it Hertz

I got 3 250 14K.  Very pleased with it.  Very comparable to my hamilton 14K!
