We need to get an accurate head count for all those attending the meeting at the New Port Aquarium.
Newport Aquarium is open 10am-6pm
1 Aquarium Way, Newport, KY 41071
Parking is $3 for the day in Newport on the Levee
Need a minimum of 10 people
Adult group rate $17.99
Children (2-12yrs of age) $11.99

All the information they gave me is in my first post. I didn't know they had a behind the scenes show, so I didn't ask for the behind the scenes show and they obviously didn't offer. They do offer backstage animal experience. If you are interested in a behind the scene show, here is their number (859) 261-7444, give them a call. They did say that the number of members attending had to be 10 or greater to get the admission discount.

I have called the group ticket office but they are not open until Monday. I left them a message to see if there would be any discount if a group of us wanted to take this tour together. Since we are planning on having the club meeting at 2:00 the 3:30 option would work out the best for the behind the scenes tour. I will let you guys know once I hear back.

You will learn all about how our divers, veterinary lab and water quality lab help keep our animals healthy. Requirements:
Each guest must have their own ticket
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. These experiences are recommended for children ages 4 and older.
Tours are limited. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Please arrive at least ten minutes early. The tours run on a strict schedule to allow the greatest amount of time for your experience. Late arrivals will forfeit their tickets. Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.

I spoke to Tiffany in group sales at Newport. She advised that the two behind the scenes tours times on Sunday are 1:30 and 3:30. She said the spots do tend to fill up quickly so if you are interested that we would need to book pretty quickly (like today) or the spots may close. She said they can do a private group tour of up to 15 people for $199. This would need to be prepaid ahead of time in one payment. I know we keep talking about wanting to promote involvement and boost attendance by the members. I am just throwing it out there that maybe the club offers to pay for the behind the scenes tour for up to the first 15 people that sign up and pay their own way into the actual Aquarium. I know this is a long shot considering only four people have actually signed up to the meeting but I think it would be a great educational opportunity for our members. Any officers thoughts would be appreciated.

We did the behind the scenes a couple years back and it was really enjoyable. Well worth the extra money

I need an accurate head count to purchase the tickets at the Newport Aquarium by tomorrow (03/18/2016) at 9AM. Tobe1971 and mil3sdavis I will get 2 tickets for each of you. We are close to the minimum.

Newport Aquarium trip:
I plan on arriving 9:45AM to pick up the tickets at Will Call (second window on the left). You can pick up your ticket from me at that time or I will leave them at Custom Service under Ohio Reef. If you have problems, you can call my cell phone (I'll PM the number).

The 20 March Ohio Reef Monthly Meeting will be held in Sharky's Cafe at 2PM.

The Adult ticket price is $19 per ticket ($17.99 plus 6% sales tax). You can use Pay Pal to the Ohio Reef Treasurer (Keith92) or pay cash to me at the meeting.

They did not give out individual tickets. If you go into the lobby, just tell the kid taking tickets that you are with the Ohio Reef Club.
