Title: Can someone explain the idea of a frag swap
Post by: bkvreef on April 15, 2009, 08:52:07
I understand the name.
But is it necessarily a swap.
Or is it basically a flea market where you can buy frags from individuals at low prices?

Sort of like a flee market, some trading, some straight selling/buying. There will be a few vendors there selling/displaying, a raffle, food, etc. It's a really good time if you're into aquariums. (My wife is usually bored)

As far as it being a swap.... for me I usually sell some stuff and then buy at least equal to that amount, so in my mind I just swapped my stuff for some others, even if money had to exchange hands to make it happen...

Is there a cost to get in?
I saw that there were tickets for the raffle.  Do we have to be present to win?

Yes. It will be $5 to get in. This is pretty standard with other swaps and helps the club cover some of the costs of putting on the swap.

The only tickets we are currently pre-selling are for the multi-month progressive raffle and no you do not need to be present to win. There will be tickets sold at the swap for any other available raffle items.

Thanks,
Joe
