Acan Warfare

Every morning I would look at my acan and wonder what was going after it. I dipped the coral several times and then watched my tank several nights straight and this is the culprit that I caught.

That is pretty wild and makes me wonder if I should split mine up.

These 2 acans are several inches apart. Only in the past 2 weeks have ever noticed the problem. So I spread them apart a little further and last night all went well.
I saw this post on another forum and they keep acans together.

Most acans can be kept together. Hard to tell from the your picture, I would question if these are both acans.

They were each purchased as Acans. One as an Agent Orange and the other as a Blue and Red Aussie Acan.

The orange one is a different species. But the name escapes me at the moment.

Correct. The agent orange is an Acan Lord Howe or Acanthastrea Echinata and the blue and red is an Acan Lord or Acanthastrea lordhowensis. I have had them next to each other for over a year and never had an issue. However, the agent orange seems to be going through a growth spurt so maybe that is why. Either way, I found some info. on it.
