Finally started, need advice!
« on: October 16, 2019, 17:27:50 »
Well, we got the holes drilled in my 58 gallon without breaking the tank!  Now on to the plumbing.  We are putting in a 40 gallon basement sump directly under the tank, but I could use some advice from others that have plumbed a basement sump.  I am a bit nervous about the return pump vs flow thru the sump/skimmer.  I am considering a triton system.   Also wondering about wastewater and if that can be plumbed out of the house or just into the home sump.

I have mine plumbed in the basement.  I would recommend either the HERBIE or BEAN ANIMAL overflow. Plan your electrical carefully and install more outlets than you think you will need.  I put saltwater in my basement sump but I have a lot of water flow in there all the time.  I would flush it with fresh water afterwards.
