ASM Not making bubbles
« on: June 19, 2006, 12:07:32 »
Why would my ASM have such a drastic change in the amount of bubbles its making?  I took it all apart the other day, cleaned it and did not really find anything.  Good bubbles for about 5 days, now there is water very high, and nearly no bubbles at all???

Check where the air is first injected into the pump. Salt creep will often clog the air inlet at or near this area.

My SeaClone used to clog in that area on a regular basis. I don't see why an ASM wouldn't do the same thing. On my SC, I used to use a small syringe and inject hot RO/DI water through the airline and that would clear out the blockage. Once the blockage was clear I'd put the air line in the cup of hot water and let it suck the water through, effectively cleaning out the line and venturi.
