Just wondering if acans can separate from the colony to spread?
If so, then I have one floating around the tank... how to I get him to ad hear to a rock or plug?

Yup, they'll do a 'polyp bailout' and float away- typically as a response to stress, but also if they get too shaded / crowded.
I'd suggest gently moving the free head into a small tupperware container in the tank filled with LR rubble or some frag discs. It should eventually attach and/or start developing a new skeleton.

Good deal. The colony is packed and there are a couple smaller heads on the bottom side of the colony getting blocked by the bigger heads on top.
