I am curious to know when everyone feeds their corals. Lights on, Lights off, time of day,etc...?

I feed after lights (mh) have been on for about an hour.(1:00p) First a tease of pellets or cyclopezze for fish and to encourage the coral to open up more.

Then in evening (8:00p) small portion for fish. And under actinics, phytoplankton.

I turn off pumps and kydors durning feeding.

Looking forward to responses, this is good question.

I feed about 5 minutes before lights go out. Turn off the Return pump so it does not go in overflow but leave the circulation pumps on to keep it suspended in the water column. Return pump turns back on 10 minutes after lights go out.

I just started feeding at night. Several hours after all the lights have been off with a flashlight.

I dose amino acids right before the lights go off, then feed after the lights have been off about an hour (if I'm still awake.)  I feed pappone (minus the human growth hormone that is supposed to be in it.)  It's a mixture of oysters, clams, shrimp, 3 types of algae, sugar, and I can't remember if there's other stuff.  It's pureed very finely.  It's more of a food for coral than fish though.

That's interesting. Do you prepare this mixture yourself?
I dose aminos an hour before lights out and have been feeding about midway through my light cycle which is usually when I get home from work.

Yup...I buy the seafood from Dorothy Lane Market...then blend it 5 minutes on, 5 minutes off, 5 minutes on...then freeze it in thin sheets.
