Pom Pom Crab Breeding Question
« on: November 03, 2011, 23:50:43 »
I noticed yesterday while feeding my tank that my Pom Pom has an egg sac on its front. I was wondering if anyone knows how to try and raise these? I have done some research online but it didn't help that much. I am also pretty sure that there is a good chance that they are fertilized as I have only had the crab for about 2 weeks.

Any help would be great, Thank.

After they consume the egg sac and hatch they are free swimming planktonic feeders. To raise you could keep a tank with green water (photo plankton) and add small rotifer for them or commercially available food. Raising in your display tank with filtration, water circulation etc.. would be a difficult task. A small 10 gallon tank with protection from equipment would be a good start.
