i have a fairly large one that i will sell for 5bucks... i only recently learned that these guys kill deep sand beds

I have sandsifting stars in stock, I usually sell them for about $8. I use them in all my setups and do not have any problems what so ever. I think they are highly beneficial in keeping the sand bed stirred and sifted.

at only three dollars cheaper its not worth the drive. it could be worth the drive if you are looking for some dragon eyes zoa frags. i have oodles of them that have been growing steadily for about 3 months now. the star is killing my sandbed because my tank is so small and he has become very large... easily 3-4 inches in a 37g tank.

Brittles are too fast and strong for the shrimp.  I'm in the same bad situation as you Larry.  Jack's has linckias for $25 and I just got one of those instead of the tiny (or no) sand-sifters the regular stores are getting.  If your shrimp is strong enough or you can figure out how (I sure couldn't) to break off a leg, it'd last you the longest for the money.
