Hermit Crabs : The different types and how we use them
« on: February 07, 2010, 16:57:52 »
Just wanted to start a post that my give someone a little incite on the different types of hermit crab, how we use each species as a environmental control measure ect.

I must admit that I am planning to purchase some this week and I am looking to fill certain ecological niches (sp) in my system.

So jump in and tell us ANY observations that will further our understanding of how these little guys contribute \ harm our reef systems.

The blue legs will kill anything they can for food, or to steal the shell (Snails, Smaller Blue Legs, RedLegs)

RedLegs(Crimson Legs) are normally quite even tempered.

I would not mix them, or the red legs will just be dead.

I completely agree that is what has led to me getting new ones..No Blue leg for me

What about the scarlet leg?
