Got some new things!!!! Woo hoo!

Hey all, I picked up a few new corals and my very first clam!

This is a quick pic I took this morning when my lights came on with my phone.  I put him in the tank last night.  As soon as the lights came on this morning he opened right up.  Hopefully he continues to do that!  He also has some pretty sweet looking blue xenia growing on the side of his shell.  Hopefully those spread a bit and I can get some colonies of those going too!  I will take some better pics after I finish cleaning the glass and get everything squared away.  Hopefully tonight, if not then tomorrow.

nice looken clam  tust me if u get one like slandis u will be up gradeing ur tank once a year if not more

You may want to keep the 240 if you get a gigas, they can get 3.5' - 4' long

HAHA... welll for now the 240 is just gonna stay where it is at until someone buys it.  I will just have to put that dude in the middle of my 125 and the rock with other corals on the two sides.  Make him the center piece! haha 

I got him at AS in Troy.  They had a few more that were SWeEeT looking!  I kinda wish I got a couple of them, but I just kept having flashes of what can happen like with Slandis'!  Like I need two of them in my tank at once! haha  "Here's my 125 clam tank.."

I really hope the xenia spread.  I like that blue tinge they have!

As for the substrate... yeah... I shut my skimmer off last week to clean it... and well... I never got around to it.  Once I did the stupid thing started spewing micro bubbles.  So I let it sit and redid all the connections and fired it back up this morning and bam!  SOoooo... hopefully that will be gone soon.  I am due for a water change; So I will probably just vac it off the substrate.  I really don't want to have this tank setup much longer either.  I just need to do the electrical (no biggie) and setup/plumb the sumps!

Ill get an updated pic this weekend. I am in no hurry to put the calcium reactor online because  know he will probably double size in a year.

I got my skimmer back online last night... if you think my substrate looks FunKay... you should see the skimmer's cup. YUM! haha
