« on: October 29, 2010, 15:10:01 »
What kind of Pod is this? I think its an isopod, it kinda looks like the pillbugs that are under every  rock you turn over, but not really sure.  They are everywhere  and i;m hoping its a good thing.

I think that pic and sample pic are both amphipods.  Copepods are the little tiny dots on your glass.  Both are good.

time to buy a green mandarin fish.  With that many pods, you should have plenty of food for one.  they have to be one of the coolest fish.

Do these guys molt?  I see what looks like skin off these guys floating around.  Its either that or they turn white when they die.

Sometimes you will see huge ones floating around... I always think they get killed going through the return pump from sump.

If you read most of the stuff online it says they ONLY eat copepods.... I dont know why an adult mandrin wouldnt eat amphis if they were small enought to fit in their mouth, but....

I know this one !!!

Yes they do molt due to their exoskeleton. And it is controlled by temp... the higher the temp in your tank the more they molt  ;D
