How did you get your tank seeded with pods?  Are they good during the cycling process?  Do you grow your own? - use them for part of your cuc crew ke food for fish?  - just curious on what people do and people thoughts

I?ve bought pods from various people. If I remember correctly Jeff (coralbeauties) had some at the frag swap. I also buy from Jason Holback out of Columbus, he is super affordable and bottles are loaded! Also reef nutrition tigger pods. I added a ton of pods for months to my tank before adding my green mandarin. So far so good!

I also keep a couple of mason jars with tigger pods in each one. I usually do a water change on them every 6weeks or so. I?ll put a few pods in my main display when I do that water change.

I recently ordered amphipods and copepods from Dinkins Aquatics and was happy with the product. Was able to start my own culture with the mixed pod batch.

So when you start your batch you feed them some phytoplankton- keep some water movement.  So do you sieve them then return the smaller ones back
to continue culturing/Growing them and the bigger ones to your tank?

They just need an air-stone and some food so often correct?

You don?t want an air stone, you want full bubbles from a hard line airline. 3 bubbles per second is what I have read. Pretty easy to keep, just put them in the window. Keep the water a light green color and change water every so often. That?s my method anyways.

Yes good catch on the air stone - do you just buy phytoplankton to keep
Them feed or do you grow your own?

I use reef nutrition phyto. I wish I could find some quality phyto locally though.
