I'm not computer savvy so please bear with me. All I know is that when I'm trying to view a specific forum the page will load, refresh and then the white screen comes up and says "Internet explorer cannot display the webpage". If I can time it out right I cant stop navigation in-between and still view it but otherwise nothing. Hopefully someone knows the remedy for this?

Sounds like an issue on your end.
Try emptying your Internet Explorer caches and cookies. Where are you accessing from, ie work or home? Are you behind a firewall?
-
This is my home computer, I have Computer Associates firewall. Never had an issue like this before so I wasn't sure if it was the site of my computer.
-
What IE you using, IE 8 has tons of issues just like that!
-
No I think its IE7. I just tried what ohioreef suggested so hopefully that works.
-
Nope, still the same. :(
Some pages do it and some don't. I might just try my sledgehammer, it usually solves most of lifes other technical problems!
-
I had the CA firewall at one time and had TONS of trouble accessing some sites. I removed it and the troubles went away.
-
Yeah the CA firewall seems to be the issue. I turned it off and smooth sailing. I guess its time to find a new firewall.
Thanks!!!

Are you running Windows XP? If so, there is a built in firewall that is better than nothing.
-
No it has Vista. I tried using its own firewall when I first got this machine and it was about useless. It slowed the internet down so much that it wasn't even worth trying to use. I've read alot about people with Vista having alot of headaches with Windows Defender and all the other built-in security options. Honestly, I've seriously thought about dumping Vista and putting XP on it.

Gary, how do you access this? I have XP and I'm not sure how to use it.
-
Odds are, unless you have another firewall installed, it is already running. If you dont have any firewalls running there should be a warning in the system tray (lower right corner).
-
Hmmm, don't see anything. I guess it's doing it's job. LOL
-
I can check whenever I get over to pick up my salt.
-
Cool! I forgot all about the salt! LOL

Buy a MAC and you won't have those problems ;D
-
well fortunately my mobile internet is reliable!
-
I agree get a mac. I was always a PC guy until my wife had to buy one for school, now I don't think I could go back to a PC. We have had the computer (Powerbook G4) for five years and we haven't had any problems except for the DVD drive that I replaced last night in about an hour.

Sorry I can not play any of my games on a Mac
