CREE LED build underway shortly... my credit card is hiding.
« on: December 11, 2010, 23:19:45 »
After looking at the LED performance over at the Coral Ranch, and seeing Paul's beautiful setup, took the financial plunge.  If my body goes missing, was probably the spousal unit after spending that kinda cash. J/K... I hope!

Now I need to start writing the Apex code to cover ramping for 3 colors of LEDs.

Before I forget:

Thanks to Paul for his help and guidance in pointing me in the right direction

The Reef LED guys are having a Christmas sale - email Bill for the coupon code and save 10%.

Kattz,

I just finished my sets and after many hours of comparison found the guys at rapidled.com cheaper (even with the 10%).  They both negociated to win the business.  They also answered many questions along the way to help me with completion including a full DIY documentation manual.  Also, not sure whay your doing for optics but I think they have a better selection too.  Next week they said they will have 85 deg XPG's avalible.

70 deg optics for the blue and white LED's, 80 deg for the reds.  How's your build coming along?

I am finally complete.  I am sooooo glad I decided on XPG whites with a 50 - 50 mix with Blue full power is exactly what I was looking for.  I like a really bright looking tank.  I did wire it with a remote control to dial it in for differnet times of the day.  I was really surprised how just a little more blu/white makes a big differance.  I just got my fans in yesterday and I wired them up and WOW does that effect the heat sink temp.  I got these silent fand that you cannot even hear run, that have a built it dial to change the speed.  I am trying to get pics togehter to post.  If you want to PM your email I can send you the doc kit I got that lines out step by step how to build and make sure you dont blow them out.

If you have any questions too, flle free to contact me and I can let you know in more detail what  I learned.

I cnt belive the shimmer, especially after adjusting the Korellas to swirl a little water up op, and my corals have never opened up and show cloer like this before.  Its good stuff like everyone says.
