42,000 Gallon Reef Tank

I know some of you regularly visit Destin.  We saw this place back at Christmas...and it was nuts!  They actually sell corals out of their 42,000 gallon aquarium (the curator told us that if we saw something we wanted to buy, that she'd put on her scuba gear and get it for us.)

The tank is an old sea-turtle tank.  It is mostly naturally lit with some 1000W metal halides.  Water changes are performed weekly with natural seawater.

Anyway, it's a pretty new reef tank...can't wait to see it grown out!

Thanks for posting this!  I got to Destin 1-2 times a year.  I think I stopped one time a few years or so ago but it wasn't open.
