Copper in storage tubs
« on: August 24, 2014, 22:00:32 »
I was going to borrow some stock tubs to do my tank change in. Gary told me he had used copper in them over a year ago and since then they have sat empty. I know copper is a no no for corals and inverts but I will only be using them for a couple weeks. Just looking for a little input. Wonder if the rubber tubs soak up copper and if they would leach it back out. Appreciate any input. Or if some one has a tub that has not had copper in it that I can use. Thanks.

As stated I did one copper treatment in the tubs and now that I think of it I also did a prazipro treatment in the tubs

I do have a 300g tub which has been sitting outside for a few years now, I do not believe it has ever had copper in it.  The tub is owned by aquarium etc.

I didn't set the tubs outside today, forgot to do so before I left.  I can put them out later this evening or tomorrow if out decide you want them

Thinking about lining these with plastic drops used for painting. Anyone see any issues with that?
