Green Emerald gone ballistic
« on: July 01, 2009, 20:37:26 »
I've got a monster in my tank! I figure she's about the size of a silver dollar. Did a great job of keeping nuisance algaes at bay, but.....I caught her picking at my acans last night. Never saw this behavior before. Naturally, my first impulse was to try and remove her. Well, that ain't happenin! Anyone got any suggestions? I don't want this crab making dinner out of my corals.

I have one that lives under a rock with a ton of Green Richordia. It eats them, and given the number of them, I am fine with that.

I had one that lived happily in my tank for about a year...then started pinching chunks out of my SPS.  Not a ton of damage, but very obvious.  Eventually he went into my sump...where my puppy would try to bite at him through the glass (she did not like him one bit either!)

You want to try to catch it at night.  Mine come out in the open a lot at night.  Might be a little easier.
