Title: replacing MH capacitors
Post by: catalyst on March 10, 2007, 00:52:21
Has any one ever replaced the capacitors in their MH ballast boxes?

I called around and found direct replacement for my Advance 15uF capacitors would be $45 each
(hmmm ... yeah ... let me get back to you on that ...)

anyone know of a local (and less expensive) source?

PFO has no-name 15uF caps for $18+ each

looking for 15uF 3% 400V dry capacitors - Advance PN 7C150P40-R

But if you can change the transformer for another $7, why not?  Just about as easy to change as a cap by its self unless it's some built in transformer.  Maybe Mendelsons in Dayton.
