40 gal gas water heater
« on: July 12, 2011, 22:06:38 »
Anyone in need of a gas water heater? have a 40 gal tall AO Smith promax gcv 40 100. It won't stay on for longer than one cycle. Though I have not tested the thermocouple, I doubt it is the problem(plenty of copper wire left anyways if it was). I believe the arrestor needs blown out and cleaned as it is starving the pilot for oxygen after the 1st cycle burns it all out. We are only replacing as its just easier to replace with a new unit w/warranty as we fit it in the budget when we bought the home to flip.

Started as a tranny shop in the late 60's and then went to a full service shop towards the late 80's and back to tranny towards end of 90's. Has been closed for the last 5 or so. They are trying to sell the shop, so my cousin and I are just hauling the stuff away as my grandfather, dad, and uncles rip through it. not all the engines came from the shop some of them came from an old barn out at my grandfather's property. Some old tractor/car/motorcycle/mower engine etc.
