Any suggestions on the best poly for filter material and where to buy it?  I have a couple of worn out mesh socks I'm going to put in my Red Sea and stuff them full so I can change it from the top instead of slide out the holders.

I'm looking for mechanical only. I actually use that in my discus tank canister filter.  I add trace elements so it is no good for the Red Sea.
