I moved the rock and didn't notice it right away. I was in a hurry and didn't have time to sit and watch it, I wasn't even sure if it was alive until I looked for it today and it was gone.

Looks like some sort of tube worm or something similar. Hard to say from pic.

It reminds me of a wax worm we used to catch blue gills

If your referring to the little hard tubes coming off the white substrate they are a type of Vermetid snail. If those are all you have I would remove them. They can in some situations increase in numbers. When that happens it hurts when you grab hold of one and it gets under your nail. Ouch! From experience it's painful. if you already have a lot not much to do but they shouldn't hurt anything in the tank

Ok thanks. It was about 1/2 inch long and the thin white things were probably legs
