Title: Blood Fire Shrimp Advice.
Post by: Jooak9 on October 14, 2019, 21:19:00
I am considering a fire shrimp for my 10 gallon.  However, while researching I’m reading they will sometimes bother corals.  Lots of conflicting messages out there.  What’s any of your thoughts and or experiences?  The more I am reading makes me wonder if this is a better last addition after the corals have matured and grown a while..... Or, even a potential never addition if playing it safe!

Thanks for your opinions in advance...

Josh

Go with a couple cleaner shrimp. They are out most of the time, will hang out together as s pair and are a hoot to watch them swim within the tank. They can be a bit pricey for a little shrimp but are worth it. From what I understand the blood reds don’t like to come out much so it is $40 for something that hides from you.

My blood shrimp only shows when food is around and then it’s gone again. Beautiful but not something I would buy again. The cleaners are out all the time.
If you want some shrimp that stay small check out the sexy shrimp. They will host a coral or nem but always out and about. Cool little guys!!

I have a fire shrimp that is out in the open, but has his spot he stays in.  I have found them cheaper at frag swaps
