« on: December 17, 2012, 21:41:32 »
Anyone tried this. Need some input. I have been dosing for several months now. Snotty looking algae taking over. Solutions?

That is a bacteria bloom.  Where is the slime building up?     Skip a day or two of doses, then resume, but back off a little on your dose.  What is your water volume and what how much are you dosing?

During the bloom, The bacteria can consume the oxygen in the water, and of course the slime can smother your corals.    You need to stay on top of keeping the slime removed from your tank.   Make sure your skimmer is working at peak performance, I would set the skimmer to make a "wet" skim.

Yikes.  On my 90, I never went over about 8ml

So the skimmate is "watery"   Not too thick.

If you can pour it out of the collection cup, then it's Watery.

Depending on skimmer type you lower your skimmer cup or restrict the out flow and it causes the water level to rise which in turn makes the skimate watery.

Still not sure what you mean. Are you saying to allow more water in the cup?
